Charles “Chuck” Dender is an experienced commercial litigator, focusing on complex commercial matters. Prior to joining Thompson Bukher, Chuck practiced at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP and, prior to that, at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.
Chuck’s representative experience encompasses a wide array of substantive areas including fiduciary duty and shareholder actions, securities litigation, SEC investigations, antitrust actions including allegations of collusion and government agency second request reviews, special litigation committee and internal investigations, whistleblower actions, and general commercial contract disputes. His specific industry expertise includes the financial services sector, hedge funds, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, software, sports and entertainment, and labor.
Chuck earned his J.D. at Cornell Law School where he was editor-in-chief of the Cornell International Law Journal. He also earned an M.B.A in finance and quantitative finance from N.Y.U.’s Stern School of Business, as well as receiving two B.A.s, in economics and political science, from Temple University where Chuck graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa honoree.
Chuck is admitted to the New York State bar and the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
