Ben Thompson’s group handles corporate and securities transactions. As part of supporting established companies and startup business clients in the technology, digital media and entertainment industries, Ben’s practice areas include corporate governance, business formation & structuring, and securities transactions with a heavy emphasis on transactions involving intellectual property assets.
The group has developed particular expertise in international venture capital and securities placement transactions, supporting businesses in industries including manufacturing, e-commerce, software development and entertainment.
Ben is an adjunct professor of law, teaching Negotiation Strategy at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and coaches the school’s mediation and negotiation competition teams. Prior to starting Thompson Bukher LLP, he practiced at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, where he focused on intellectual property, securities, and bankruptcy matters.
Ben earned his Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University.
Ben is admitted to the New York State bar and to the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York.
