Trademark infringement remedies are beginning to move into the realm of Twitter (and other vanity third-party sites) with the latest ruling in the United States Eastern District of New York. The New York District Court issued a preliminary injunction, enjoining the transfer and use of a Twitter account which allegedly infringed on a trademark owned by the Town of Islip. Black Sheep Television, Ltd. v. Town of Islip, 2010 WL 4961669 (E.D.N.Y., December 6, 2010).
